Plot:
Jake Feldman is a creepy fur trader, who buys pelts cheaply and has his workers turn the furs into gorgeous coats. John Saxon plays a fur hunter who traps several gorgeous raccoons and turns them into Jake, but not before dying a horrible death. Jake steals the pelts from his house, even after seeing the trapper and his son dead. None of his workers will touch the pelts because they know the legends surrounding the fur. He eventually finds one woman willing to help, but she eventually dies to. He becomes obsessed with the furs, even trying to get permission from the original landowner to hut them down, but she refuses. He does all this in the hopes of getting an exotic dancer to fall in love with him…or at least fuck him.
Trivia:
Directed by Dario Argento and featuring Saxon from A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Episode 6 from the second season of the show.
Thoughts:
I’ve seen a lot of horror movies/shows in my time and most of them tend to fade into my brain. Pelts was one of those…until I watched it again. Oh my god, how could I possibly forget this one? Seeing a woman sew her mouth, eyes and nose shut was excruciating, as was seeing Meat Loaf of all people, cutting off his skin to make a human vest. There was so much blood in this that I’m a little ashamed I didn’t remember it right away. My boyfriend had a friend over and he got so grossed out that I thought he might need to leave the room. Don’t miss it.
