Leprechaun

Plot:

A leprechaun has his pot of gold stolen (insert lucky charms joke here) by a man hoping to trap him for good. Decades later a man and his daughter Tory move into the house. Nathan and Ozzie are two men helping clean up the house. Ozzie, who’s “slow”, accidentally lets the leprechaun out. Then he and his friend Alex steal the leprechaun’s gold and Ozzie accidentally swallows one of the pieces. The leprechaun goes on a killing spree, attempting to find his gold and kill anyone who voluntarily took a piece.

Trivia:

The Leprechaun is roughly 600 years old, according to the first movie.

It was rumored that Jennifer Aniston (Tory) took the film off her resume after “Friends”. Watch this one to see her original nose!

Thoughts:

I have funny memories of Leprechaun because my older brother took me to see it (in the theater) when I was a kid. The friend who went with us was so freaked out that she kept hiding in the car and making everyone check outside, before she’d get out of the car. We had quite a bit of fun teasing her about the leprechaun coming out of the bushes. I have such clear memories of it and then when I recently re-watched it, I was kind of confused. Turns out that much of what I remember isn’t actually from the movie. To be honest, it’s just kind of your run of the mill, early 90s horror flick and it’s kind of surprising that they made so many (arguably better) movies later in the franchise.
